VERIFICATION

TBR verification exists to protect the integrity of the Turkish Boz Shepherd Dog and to ensure registry records are accurate, transparent, and defensible. Verification is not an endorsement of any individual breeder or kennel. It is a documentation and identity confirmation process used to establish eligibility within TBR standards.

PURPOSE OF VERIFICATION

Verification confirms that a dog being entered into the TBR system is correctly identified and supported by appropriate documentation. The goal is to prevent false claims, misrepresentation, and inaccurate pedigree records while maintaining long-term credibility of the registry.

WHAT VERIFICATION MAY INCLUDE

Depending on the submission, verification may include one or more of the following:

• Microchip identity confirmation

• Owner and breeder information review

• Lineage documentation (WAD references, breeder records, import documentation, or prior registry paperwork)

• DNA-supported parentage testing when required

• Phenotype evaluation to confirm Boz type and working structure

WHEN DNA / PARENTAGE TESTING IS REQUIRED

Parentage testing may be required when:

• Parentage is unknown, incomplete, or disputed

• Documentation is missing or inconsistent

• A dog is being submitted for full pedigree status without verified parents

• Identity confirmation is necessary to protect registry accuracy

TBR reserves the right to require DNA testing at any time if documentation cannot be sufficiently verified.

VERIFICATION STATUS LABELING

All dogs in the TBR system will be clearly labeled according to their verification status:

• Verified

• Pending

• Unverified

Status reflects documentation on file and does not imply quality, breeding value, or performance.

TRANSPARENCY POLICY

TBR documents what is supported by evidence.

TBR does not record assumptions, hearsay, or unsupported claims.

If information is unknown or incomplete, it will be stated as such.
