Registration
The Turkish Boz Registry (TBR) maintains a structured, verification-based registration system designed to protect the integrity of the breed, breeders, and owners. All dogs submitted for registration must follow the steps below in the order listed, unless otherwise approved by the Registry.
If at any point there is uncertainty, applicants must contact the Registry before proceeding.
Depending on a dog’s origin, pedigree status, or registration history, certain steps may be modified or formally bypassed only with Registry approval.
Step 1: Determine Eligibility
Before submitting any documentation, applicants must determine whether the dog qualifies under one of the following categories:
Dog born from registered parent dogs
Imported dog with verifiable pedigree
Domestic-bred dog from documented lineage
Transitional or legacy registration (case-by-case)
If eligibility is unclear, applicants must contact the Registry prior to submission.
➡️ [Contact the Registry]
Step 2: DNA Collection & Parentage Verification
All dogs submitted for registration must have:
A DNA sample collected using a Registry-approved provider
Parentage verification is required when the parent dogs are registered, but the dog or dogs being submitted are not yet registered in the Registry.
This requirement ensures:
Accurate lineage tracking
Prevention of undocumented pedigree gaps
Long-term integrity of the Registry database
Parentage verification may be waived only when the dog is already recorded in the Registry with verified lineage.
➡️ [Order a DNA Kit]
Step 3: Microchipping
Each dog must be permanently identified with:
An ISO-compliant microchip
A recorded microchip number matching all submitted documentation
The microchip number becomes part of the dog’s permanent registration record and is required prior to evaluation.
➡️ [Order a Microchip]
Step 4: Documentation Submission
Applicants must submit all required materials, which may include:
DNA test results
Parentage verification (if applicable)
Microchip number
Import paperwork (if applicable)
Breeder-of-record information
Ownership verification
Incomplete submissions will not advance.

Hard copy registration certification will be issued pending verification.
Step 5: Phenotype Evaluation
All dogs submitted for registration may be subject to a phenotype evaluation conducted or reviewed by Registry-approved evaluators.
Phenotype evaluation is a qualification step, not a formality.
➡️ [Request a Phenotype Evaluation]

Phenotype Scoring (1–5 Scale)
Phenotype evaluations are scored using the following standardized scale:
5 – Exceptional
Exemplary breed type, structure, balance, and movement. Ideal breeding representative.
4 – Very Good
Strong breed type with minor, non-limiting imperfections. Recommended for breeding.
3 – Acceptable / Conditional
Meets minimum breed criteria with moderate deviations. Breeding permitted only under pairing restrictions.
2 – Marginal
Significant deviations from breed standard. Not recommended for breeding without Registry approval.
1 – Fails Evaluation
Does not meet minimum phenotype standards. Not eligible for breeding.
Mandatory Breeding Pairing Rule
Any dog scoring a 3 or lower must be paired with a dog scoring a 4 or higher.
This rule applies to all Registry-recognized breeding programs and all litters intended for registration.
Step 6: Registry Review & Verification
Following phenotype evaluation, the Registry will review all submitted materials for:
Accuracy
Consistency
Compliance with Registry standards
Additional documentation may be requested.
Step 7: Registration Approval & Issuance
Once approved:
The dog is entered into the official Registry database
A registration record is issued
Breeding eligibility or limitations are assigned where applicable
Special Circumstances & Hardship Applications
The Registry recognizes that not all situations are identical.
For legacy dogs, incomplete documentation, or exceptional circumstances:

Do not assume steps may be skipped without approval.
Breeder Responsibility Notice
Breeders listed in the Registry Directory are fully responsible for:
DNA sampling of all puppies sold
Microchipping of all puppies sold
Completing the full registration process for puppies sold
Providing buyers with all required registration documentation
It is not the buyer’s responsibility to register dogs after the fact
Failure to comply may result in removal from the Breeder Directory or termination of breeder status.
Step 8: Apply for TBR Registration
In Order to Be Accepted
For a dog to be accepted for TBR registration, valid registry paperwork is required.
Applicants must submit official documentation verifying the dog’s identity and lineage. This includes existing registration certificates, pedigrees, breeder-issued paperwork, or recognized import/export documents.
Applications submitted without registry paperwork will not be processed.
If documentation is incomplete, unclear, or cannot be fully verified, DNA parentage and breed verification will be required prior to approval.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. All applications are subject to review and final approval by the Turkish Boz Registry.
Step 9: Apply for WAD Pedigree
In Order to Be Accepted
For a dog to be accepted for an official pedigree issued by World Anatolian Dogs (WAD), valid registry paperwork is required.
Applicants must submit documentation clearly identifying the dog, its breeder, and its sire and dam. Pedigrees are issued only for dogs with verifiable lineage.
Applications submitted without registry paperwork will not be processed.
If lineage cannot be fully confirmed through documentation, DNA parentage testing will be required before a pedigree can be issued.
Submission of an application does not guarantee pedigree issuance. All applications are subject to verification and approval under WAD standards.
